The best way to get involved is to come to Palestine! Many Bristol activists have already been to occupied Palestine to take part in Palestinian actions against the occupation. Get in touch and we can arrange brefing, training and transport for your to join them.
Whilst there, you may take part in protests, direct actions, Human Rights Observaton and abuse documentation, media work and accompaniment of vulnerable persons. You will also be requiered to drink many cups of super-sweet peppermint tea and live on falafel for days at a time. Volunteers generally stay in Palestine for 2-4 weeks but long-term volunteers are vital to our work.
To learn what it is like to volunteer in Palestine, see our blog, ISM's Volunteer Journals or email info (at) bristol-ism.org.uk and our activists will be more than happy to talk to you about their experiences.
If you've never done anything like this before, the Freedom Summer campaign, running from July 2nd until August 5th would be the ideal place to start. You can get more details here on the main ISM website.
If you can't come to Palestine, we always need people in the UK to act as media liasons, fundraisers, webmasters, and awareness raisers. Get in touch and we'll be grateful for any time and sklls you can offer.
